If you are reading this publication, it is because you have seen the value of belonging to the Glenview Chamber of Commerce. Businesses and individuals join the Chamber for a variety of reasons. Most join to grow their business by networking and the opportunity to meet new potential customers. Some join to be active in advancing business interests and working with local government. Finally, some join the Chamber of Commerce because they believe it is part of belonging to a community.
Just by joining, you get many benefits. However, if all you do is sign up, you will only receive a fraction of the benefits of membership. Merely having you name on our rolls will only get you so far. Here are a few ideas on how you can get the most from your decision to be a part of the Chamber.
Networking Opportunities All Day Long
Whether you are an early riser or a evening person, the Chamber provides you a choice of networking opportunities. From the monthly Business After Hours function, to our quarterly Morning Speakers Program, the Chamber hosts events for you to expand your business. We are currently developing a networking event for those who would prefer a noontime program.
Join A Committee
For almost every Chamber responsibility, a committee guides the Board of Directors in making decisions and running events. There are several committees ranging from the Ambassador Committee, which is responsible for guiding new members, to the Legislative Affairs Committee which interacts with Village government. By being active in a committee, you develop closer relationships with other Chamber members and meet key members of the community.
Use the Web Site (glenviewchamber.com)
Did you know that you can use the Chamber Web site to make special offers or even post help wanted notices? Forgot the location of the next Business After Hours? Need to know how to properly dispose of old computers and hazardous materials? The web site has recourse for you.
Use the Chamber to Promote Your Business
The Business After Hours events are a great way to host a Chamber event in your place of business. However, there is a long waiting list for this popular function. Why not have a Ribbon Cutting? You can arrange for a Ribbon Cutting event for your Grand Opening, anniversary, remodeling or any other special occasion. What a great way to draw attention to your business.
Thank your for being a part of the Glenview Chamber of Commerce. Make the most of your membership. If you would like more information about any of our events or functions please contact the Chamber office or call me directly at 847-724-2745.
Sincerely,
Greg Goodsitt
