  EMERALD ASH BORER UPDATE

As many residents are aware, Groot had informed the Village in March that it would suspend all residential landscape brush collection between April 30 and September 1, 2007 due to the Emerald Ash Borer Quarantine Zone.

The Village is happy to report that Groot will, be collecting all yard waste as usual.  This is possible because the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) has agreed to establish a processing center for the wood on River Road in the far southwest corner of Glenview.  Groot will transport wood waste to the center, where it will be ground into one-inch chips, required for removing wood from the quarantine zone.

Any additional costs related to this special processing will be covered by the Village.

If you have a private landscaper, be sure that it is making use of the SWANCC processing center as well.
