Chris Krueger DDS
Dear Fellow Chamber Members,
As I embark on my second term as chairmen it has already been one of the most amazing years in the history of your Glenview Chamber of Commerce. Heart of Glenview in February proved to be the most spectacular event in recent Glenview history. Not only was it attended by well over 700 people, it also profiled our philanthropic side. We raised more than $85,000 for eight well deserving charities that do their work in Glenview: Clearbrook, Connections for the Homeless, Foundation for Nager and Miller Syndromes, Glenkirk, Northfield Township Food Pantry, Sister Paulanne’s Needy Fund, Wesley Child Care and Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook. We believe that this caring donation has not only raised the level of respect of the Chamber to a new high but also brought together Glenview in a way that created a renewed sense of community and fellowship. I am proud to say that no other Chamber has ever been as charitable as the Glenview Chamber of Commerce. What a great thing to be known as the “GIVING” Chamber.
Our 2008 program chairs and co chairs are as follows:
Ambassador Council - Susan Mogab, Chair and Lloyd Kuehn
Fall Business Festival – Karen Paszkiewicz, Chair and Tom Sikoral
Golf Outing - Jim Jennings, Chair and Dennis Doerge
Halloween Painting - Darren Loveless, Chair and Maureen Morey
Holiday Ball & Silent Auction – Kooi Lin Chaddah and Chic Sullivan
Holiday in the Park & Parade – Jerry Doetsch, Chair and Mary Alvarado
Local Government Affairs – Todd Caponi, Chair and Joe Barrett
Summer Festival – Jay Hamilton, Chair and Jim Martin
I want to thank each of these chairs in advance for their dedicated service to the chamber programs. How about getting involved in one or more of these programs? We are always looking for new ideas and people to help out! Please give the Chamber a call and jump right in as we are waiting for your help.
We have two brand new board members and one returning board member that were profiled in the January newsletter. Kooi Lin Chaddah and Tom Sikoral are our new board members. With all their career and personal experience they will be a great addition to our already fantastic board. Paul Jones returns to our board to fill a one-year term after already being on our board from 1993 to 2005. We welcome his expertise and enthusiasm.
After a very long winter your "GIVING" chamber looks forward to the pending fertile spring with the warmth of the sun. We are ready to grow and blossom in many remarkable ways. Join us as we set forth into 2008.
